The Controls & Mechatronics Technician will handle the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. You will also lead system and equipment upgrades, working directly with vendors to improve the reliability and useful life of the equipment.

• Install, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot a variety of greenhouse and packaging systems used in the production of leafy greens
• Utilize Fiix to maintain correct logs of all routine maintenance, upgrades, tests, and repairs
• Perform both time‑based and condition‑based preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all greenhouse systems
• Log daily rounds of all critical manufacturing equipment, boilers, cooling systems (Glycol, R410A, etc.), pumps, compressors, etc.
• Work cross‑functionally with other departments and outside contractors to increase machine uptime
• Help with back‑up operations and coverage
• Participate in rotating on‑call work schedules
• Assist with and perform any other related duties as needed or assigned
• Be willing to attend company‑provided continuing education and training on boilers, cooling, and electrical systems as directed by supervision
• Work with little supervision
• Communicate effectively with vendors in different time zones and show willingness to flex working hours on occasion
• Work additional hours as required to complete tasks

• Ability to troubleshoot 480V, 400V, 120V, 24V, and 12
  
  VDC systems
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, parts diagrams, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of utility maintenance including irrigation systems, electric, and IT
• Using Fiix software or similar is a plus

• 3 years of maintenance experience preferred
• Must be willing to train in building automation (Priva) and maintenance management system Fiix; classes will be provided for both systems and must be completed within 90 days of onboarding
• Hold or obtain a mechatronics or controls certification from an accredited school within a timeline agreed upon by management
• Experience with roll stock packaging equipment and robotics preferred
• Forklift certified preferred

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Greenhouse, 50%

• The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
• Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
• PPE must be worn at all times

Packhouse, 50%

• The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38 F to preserve product quality
• PPE must be worn at all times

• Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures
• Occasionally move oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces
• Occasionally remain in a stationary position, or sit for prolonged periods
• Constantly move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another
• Constantly lift, adjust, or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Occasionally perform heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
• Constantly repeat motions that may include the arm, shoulder, wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools
• Occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Constantly stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time
