GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs advanced (senior-level) construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance work.

Work involves building repair, renovation, restoration, and alteration for the designated trade skill.

May train, lead, assign and/or prioritize the work of others.

Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct routine inspections of Center buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure Center facilities are in proper working order.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs, which may include tasks such as:
    • Plumbing:
      Troubleshooting and resolving issues like leaks, clogs, fixture replacements, and maintaining plumbing systems.
    • Electrical:
      Handling basic electrical tasks, including replacing or repairing fixtures, outlets, switches, and performing minor wiring repairs. Ability to trouble shoot minor electrical shorts and confidently use a multi meter/volt meter.
    • HVAC:
      Performing routine HVAC inspections and light maintenance, such as changing filters and checking belts.
    • Carpentry & Painting:
      Performing general painting, drywall repairs, and minor carpentry work.
    • General Building Repairs:
      Addressing issues with doors, hardware, fixtures, and other building components. Assembles, moves, installs, repairs, and maintains furniture systems.
    • Grounds Maintenance:
      Assist with grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, landscaping, and trash removal.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders using the Maintenance Care System.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal customers and external contractors for maintenance and repairs.
  • Provides on call coverage as assigned for after hours and weekends-responding appropriately and timely to requests from Center staff.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. In accordance with the Center’s Behavior Addendum, will maintain positive, professional, and effective relationships with fellow members of the Center’s team, vendors, administration, and community stakeholders.
  • Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of programs processes.
  • Professional Development:
    Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Education
  • Experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Central Counties Services incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, which includes cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position.
  • Knowledge of the construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of buildings, equipment, and utility systems.
  • Skill in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment. Ability to proficiently utilize computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook and Maintenance W/O systems.
Additional Requirements
  • Requires frequent travel within the service area; must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and be insurable through Central Counties Services.
  • Ability to perform all work with a high degree of competence and independence, utilizing standard and proven methods in all required maintenance activities.
