Job Summary
As an Entry Level Driver Trainee, you'll work in Delivery Operations and operate tractor trailers across the network. You'll fill a training position for 11 weeks, working to become a full time H-E-B Driver in Delivery Operations. As a Trainee, you'll be required to earn a Class A Commercial Driver's License and successfully complete CDL training. Once you successfully complete the Driver Training Program and Driver Orientation, you'll be promoted to an Activity Based Driver.
During the Delivery Driver Trainee program, you'll be paid hourly.
- Transports merchandise from the Support Center to various Store locations and terminals
- Transports goods back to the Support Center
- Ensures integrity of the load and accuracy of product delivered to each Store
- Loads / unloads merchandise from the truck

Qualifications& Key Requirements Age Requirement
- 21+
- 3+ years of driving experience
- Never had a suspended or revoked driver license, permits, or privileges in any state / county
- No DWI/DUI or felony convictions ever in lifetime
- No moving violations, tickets or (chargeable) accidents on MVR in the last 3 years, including personal vehicle
- Excellent driver safety record (police reports will be requested on those whose MVR record reflects an accident)
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
- 3-year clear MVR; record will be reviewed for preventability, based on H-E-B standards
- Documented proof of a good driving record; applicants chosen to be interviewed must obtain a Life History MVR from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)—see below for instructions.

- Select Driver License and Online Services / More online services
- Click on Request a driver record
- Enter requested information found on your driver’s license
- Click on Type 3A (Certified Complete Driving History)
- Knowledge of English (mandatory, Regulation 398.3 (c)(4), FMCSA: “Every driver shall be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals and directions given in English and to respond to official inquiries.”)
- Familiarity with Section 2 of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook
- Advanced customer service and interpersonal skills
- HS Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred, or earn during training program)
- Successful completion of all Delivery Driver Trainee Program phases
- Work primarily weekends including nights and holidays (mandatory)
- Pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, verification of work history, and meet all DOT driver qualifications
- Consent to / pass a criminal background check
