Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a member of the facility's nursing leadership team and works closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and daily clinical operations. The ADON provides leadership and support to nursing staff while promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
Supervise nursing staff and provide guidance, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.
Monitor resident care outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in survey preparedness and assist with plans of correction.
Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, and clinical coverage as needed.
Investigate and follow up on incidents, accidents, and resident concerns.
Support infection prevention, medication management, and risk management programs.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care plan processes.
Assist with orientation, training, and competency evaluation of nursing staff.
Promote resident rights, safety, and quality of life.
Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON's absence.
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state regulations, and long-term care operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with electronic medical records and healthcare software preferred.
