Neil Klatskin Summer Camps in Tenafly, New Jersey is looking for a Camper Care Advocate to provide assistance and support to a caseload of inclusion campers (ages 3-12yr) and staff.
Pre-Camp
- Attend monthly planning meetings January-June.
- Welcome & Introduction phone calls to parents.
- Work with the leadership team to plan, lead, and attend camp staff training.
- Work with the Inclusion Team on shadow assignments to ensure proper matches with campers.
- Actively participate in camper/staff onboarding prior to the summer, reviewing forms and creating camper success plans.
- Work with Inclusion Team to facilitate family/parent/shadow meetings.
- Work with Inclusion Team to set up and manage each Sensory Room.
- Attend and oversee Camp Family Meet & Greet on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
- Assist in grouping, staffing, and scheduling.
During Camp
- Attend daily leadership morning meetings and weekly all staff meetings.
- Together with the inclusion team, lead shadow meetings as needed.
- Act as a resource for shadows/campers/staff and troubleshoot solutions as needed, including updates to Camper Success Plans.
- Intervene with campers and staff as challenges present during the summer at the request of the Unit Head or Program Director and in coordination with the Inclusion Director.
- Monitor setup, clean up, and usage of Sensory rooms each day.
- Communicate with parents mid-summer, end of summer, and as needed.
- Submit ongoing data collection to Inclusion Director.
- Assist with Arrivals and Dismissals each day.
- Daily check-in on caseload of inclusion campers and shadows.
- Evaluate season and share suggestions for the following season.
Other Duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $6K-$7K. Salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum QualificationsRequirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience working with children.
- Previous camp experience.
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a camp setting.
- Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Must be available to work June 23-August 15, 8:00am-5:00pm.
- Monthly availability January-April 2025 and bi-monthly May-June 2025.
- Open House (2/9/25 & April TBD), Staff Orientation (6/8, 6/9, 6/16, 6/17), staff meetings (once per week during camp), interactive nights and additional programs as needed prior to and during camp.
