The Part-Time Youth Pastor will serve two churches sharing space and a ministry vision for Christian Education. The Vine Church of NJ is a Korean Methodist Church and Cornerstone Church was the former English Ministry of the Church but now is an independent Korean American church with a shared Christian education ministry. The Part Time Youth Pastor will report to the Education Director, who oversees the Youth Ministry, and will be ministering to middle school and high school students.
This role focuses on active presence, discipleship, worship leading, and supporting core youth programs.
- Weekly Programs:
Co-lead and actively support Friday night youth fellowship, including games, small groups, and message delivery as assigned. - Pastoral Care & Discipleship:
Build relational bridges with students through regular check-ins, student visits, mentorship, and spiritual guidance. - Special Events & Retreats:
Help plan, staff, and execute key ministry milestones, including Winter Retreat, Summer Retreat, and Summer Mission Trips. Assist in teaching and preparing students for Baptism and Confirmation classes. - Worship & Praise Team:
Oversee, mentor, and direct the youth praise team (musicians and vocalists) for weekly gatherings and special events. - Teaching & Preaching:
Deliver occasional Sunday sermons as coordinated with the Education Director & Full-Time Youth Pastor; lead student Bible studies and assist with teacher/volunteer training. - Parent Communication:
Build healthy relationships with parents (bridging English/Korean communication where needed) to partner in the spiritual formation of their children.
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for youth ministry within a bi- cultural/Korean-American church context.
- Current enrollment or graduate from an accredited seminary or Bible college (preferred).
- Strong relational, worship leading, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the Education Director.
- Part-Time:
Starting at $1,800/month. - Opportunities to grow into a Half-Time Position.
