Overview
The Borough of Tenafly, Bergen County (pop. 15,500) is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. The role will support the Chief Financial Officer/Tax Collector and perform various related duties as needed within the department.
Responsibilities- Maintain vendor records and required documentation.
- Prepare bill lists and adhere to resolution deadlines.
- Print and distribute checks.
- Maintain purchase order files.
- Process stop payments.
- Handle Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requests.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer/Tax Collector and perform related duties as required.
- Two years of municipal experience, preferably in Accounts Payable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Edmunds software highly desirable.
Salary range: $45,000 – $65,000 per year.
The Borough offers participation in a pension plan, health, dental and vision insurance, and paid time off including holidays.
