Position hours:
This is full-time (40 hours). The hours will be Tuesday-Friday and Sundays.

• The membership specialist is responsible for sales of membership and programs to current and potential members.
• Establish and maintain relationships with prospective members, current members, and community groups to grow the membership base.
• Demonstrate full knowledge of the center’s programs and services, delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive patron experiences.
• Achieve individual and team sales goals through lead generation, tour scheduling, sales execution, relationship building, outreach, and retention.
• Maintain a 50% or higher sales closing ratio.
• Provide outstanding customer service, establishing lasting relationships and creating a hospitable environment.
• Treat member and guest issues with empathy and resolution.
• Encourage participation in programs by determining needs and connecting members to appropriate services.
• Register program participants and memberships using the CRM system.
• Act as a community ambassador, attending festivals, events, and external outreach.
• Process all new member applications and financial transactions accurately and maintain up‑to‑date database records.
• Coordinate and participate in member appreciation activities, JCC events, open houses, and special projects as needed.
• Follow retention and engagement plans for new members.
• Respond to all inquiries and phone calls within 24 hours in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain updated spreadsheets and data for the team.
• Represent the JCC positively both internally and externally.
• Attend department meetings and training as required.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all guests.
• Collect past‑due balances, aging invoices, and address credit card declines.
• Assist courtesy desks and cover staff absences when needed.
• Perform general office assistance and administrative duties as assigned.
• Handle member service issues, connect families to appropriate departments, report concerns, conduct exit interviews for membership cancellations.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Previous consultative sales experience in a membership‑driven organization.
• 2+ years of retail service or fitness sales experience.
• Outstanding communicator, connector, and relationship builder.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, warm, friendly, and flexible attitude.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, internet; CRM database experience required (Salesforce experience a plus).
• Strong customer service background.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
  Ability to adapt to change and be flexible.

Regularly talk, hear, reach with hands and arms; ability to walk, stoop, squat, bend, kneel or crouch; comfortable lifting 25 pounds or greater.
