Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: South Pittsburg

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. This role will focus on managing invoice processing and ensuring accurate coding and timely payments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounts payable procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Process incoming invoices by verifying accuracy and ensuring proper coding.

- Conduct regular check runs to facilitate timely payments.

- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities.

- Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or payment issues.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

- Review and approve invoices for payment after thorough validation.

- Support the finance team with additional tasks related to accounts payable.

- Prepare reports on accounts payable metrics and performance.

- Reconcile accounts payable balances to ensure accuracy.

- Assist in improving processes for greater efficiency in invoice handling.

Requirements

- Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

- Proficiency in processing and coding invoices accurately.

- Familiarity with conducting check runs and payment procedures.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions.

- Knowledge of financial regulations and company compliance standards.

- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus and strong excel.
