- The Senior Accountant role is a highly experienced and skilled senior-level position responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, preparing complex financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations
- The role involves verifying the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts, reconciling to the general ledger, and utilizing exceptional skills with accounting software tools and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Manages month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Conducts financial analysis and variance reporting to support business decisions by providing actionable insights
- Oversees and improves internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with industry standards
- Leads internal and external audit preparations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
- Manages complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts, intercompany transactions, and financial consolidations
- Researches and implements changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements, staying ahead of industry developments
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior accountants, reviews their work, and assists with their professional development
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive efficiency improvements
- Utilizes exceptional skills with accounting software tools and Microsoft Excel to perform detailed financial analysis and reporting
- Applies solid knowledge and understanding of project accounting and revenue recognition principles, contributing to accurate financial management
- Performs other accounting-related duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of the accounting team

Typically 4+ years of related experience
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
Deep knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Solid knowledge and understanding of project accounting and revenue recognition principles
Ability to work independently and within a team Experience in preparing journal entries, accounting reconciliations and with the month-end close
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Exceptional skills with accounting software tools and MS Excel Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to provide effective coaching and mentoring to junior accountants
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Certification:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Public accounting experience
Public company experience
Aerospace industry experience
Familiarity with SAPExperience with financial reporting and other accounting activities
