Role Description

The Payroll Clerk/AP Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Calhoun, TN. This role is responsible for processing payroll for hourly and salaried team members, ensuring accuracy in time entry, wage calculations, and deductions. Day‑to‑day tasks include maintaining payroll records, verifying timesheets, preparing and distributing pay statements, and assisting with payroll tax reporting. The Payroll Clerk will coordinate with HR and Accounting to resolve discrepancies, support onboarding with payroll setup, and respond to employee questions regarding pay and benefits.

The role also involves maintaining confidential information, complying with company policies and regulations, and supporting continuous improvement of payroll processes. Accounts Payable component includes data entry of all account’s payables from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors in a timely and effective manner for the company. Coordination with other employees is a critical aspect of this job. Obtaining W-9’s and Insurance Certificates.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in Payroll Services and Payroll Administration for multi‑employee or multi‑site environments.
  • Experience with Payroll Management, including handling wage calculations, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and related compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Competence in basic Accounting, including reconciliations and reporting related to payroll.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office tools (especially Excel) and strong data‑entry accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential employee and company information.
  • Prior experience in construction or industrial services environments is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary coursework in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
