Accounting Assistant

Position

Comfort Systems USA – Shoffner is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Accounts Payable team in the Blountville, TN office. This role supports invoicing, vendor management, and various accounting tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

• Account payable invoice coding and entry into accounting system.
• Interact with purchasing personnel to resolve PO and invoice discrepancies.
• Interact with vendors to resolve accounts payable issues.
• Maintain necessary information to set up accounts with new vendors.
• Maintain subcontractor and vendor compliance such as W9s and certificates of insurance.
• Reconcile vendor statements routinely.
• Assist management with other miscellaneous accounting matters as needed.

• Business/Accounting degree or 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of math and basic accounting principles.
• Strong organization and time‑management skills.
• Microsoft Office experience; proficiency with Excel formulas, sorting, and filtering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn and to work independently.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
• Ability to pass a full background and drug screening.

Pay: $19–$21 per hour, depending on experience. Veterans encouraged to apply.
