Day & Zimmermann is currently seeking 2 Outage Timekeepers for short-term employment at TVA Cumberland in Cumberland City, TN. The position will last duration of the outage (approx. 2-3 months) and is onsite. Shifts are 12 hours, 5-6 days weekly. Position is night shift, however will work day shift during training.

Position Summary

The Timekeeper supports project operations by ensuring accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of all craft labor hours and related payroll data. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with union agreements, company policies, and project reporting requirements. The Timekeeper works closely with craft supervision, project controls, and administrative teams to verify work hours, resolve discrepancies, and maintain precise documentation for large, complex power plant projects (nuclear, fossil, hydro, and gas).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, review, and enter daily craft labor hours, verifying compliance with union contracts and project coding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records in project management and payroll systems.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and field leadership to validate reported hours and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and distribute daily/weekly labor reports for project management, payroll, and client review.
  • Track overtime, shift differentials, per diem, and other premium pay in accordance with agreements.
  • Ensure timely submission of approved timesheets to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Support audit requests by maintaining complete and accurate labor documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees by setting up timekeeping records and verifying employment data.
  • Communicate policy changes or procedural updates to field supervision and craft employees.
  • Collaborate with project controls and cost teams to ensure alignment between labor hours, cost tracking, and reporting.
Experience/Preferred Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting. Prior experience in timekeeping, payroll, or administrative support within power plant, heavy industrial, or construction projects strongly preferred. Experience working in a union craft environment highly desirable. Working knowledge of union labor agreements and craft payroll practices. Proficiency with project management systems (e.g., Procore, SAP, Costpoint, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle high-volume data under tight deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with craft, supervision, and project management. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $43,326 - $73,465. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
