The Payroll Practitioner is responsible for processing accurate and timely payrolls while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations. This position maintains payroll deduction records, reconciles related general ledger accounts, and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders. The Payroll Practitioner also supports vendor reporting and payroll-related financial transactions.
This is for RSCC internal candidates only.
Job Duties- Process and maintain web time entry approvals and approval queues for full-time, part-time, and temporary employees.
- Review, update, and process payroll data to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
- Prepare and distribute payroll deduction reports to internal departments and external vendors.
- Upload and validate direct deposit bank files in accordance with established procedures.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure balances agree with vendor records.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Assist with payroll audits and reporting requirements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a professional office environment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Payroll and/or accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with Banner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in time management and prioritization of daily tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet payroll deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and external vendors.
