The Director of Business Development will drive strategic growth across our USA markets. We are seeking a seasoned professional with a proven track record in Architectural or Construction sales to lead our expansion in the Life Sciences, Advanced Technology, and Healthcare sectors. You will bridge the gap between design concepts and built realities, selling our integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and Design-Build capabilities to sophisticated clients.
Key Responsibilities- A/E/C Market Strategy & Growth
- Pipeline Architecture:
Build and manage a robust pipeline of construction and design opportunities, specifically targeting Major Capital Projects and complex retrofits. - Delivery Method Expertise:
Promote IPS’s versatility by effectively selling various delivery models, including Design-Build, CM at-Risk, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). - Early Engagement:
Leverage architectural or pre-construction knowledge to engage clients during the conceptual phase (FEED), securing IPS as the partner of choice before the RFP is released. - Client Partnership & Account Management
- Trusted Advisor:
Utilize deep industry knowledge to advise clients on constructability, zoning, and project feasibility during initial sales conversations. - Cross-Border Synergy:
Facilitate opportunities between US-based clients expanding into Asia (and vice versa), ensuring a seamless “IPS Experience” across continents. - Network Utilization:
Leverage an existing network of architects, developers, facility owners, and trade partners to generate qualified leads. - Proposal & Pursuit Leadership
- RFP/RFQ Command:
Lead the strategy for complex Architectural and Construction proposals, ensuring the IPS Value Proposition (Safety, Quality, Speed) is clear and compelling. - Interview
Coaching:
Coach technical teams (Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects) for shortlist interviews, ensuring they communicate effectively with client decision-makers.
- Industry
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of Business Development experience specifically within the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (General Contracting) industries. - Technical Fluency:
Demonstrated ability to read and discuss architectural drawings, site plans, and construction schedules. - Familiarity with construction contracts (AIA, AGC) and the nuances of GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) vs. Lump Sum bidding.
