This project requires mobilizing to the site for its duration. Union or Union Management Experience is strongly preferred. Civil (Dirt/Concrete) experience is strongly preferred. The role involves interfacing with and monitoring direct hire supervision, major subcontractor supervision, and field engineering to ensure project requirements and expectations are met with regards to craft and supervisory performance, productivity, safety, quality, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Construction Manager in ensuring complete adherence by all site supervision and craft to the Black and Veatch Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned and Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, and Guides.
- Report inappropriate conduct by any site personnel to the Construction Manager and the project Safety Manager.
- Monitor, verify, and report on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule; track and report on completion of project schedule activities and commodity installation.
- Assist craft/subcontractors/superintendents in resolving problems and report on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety.
- Monitor discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and report to Construction Manager and Field Project Controls Manager.
- Take necessary actions to maintain targets.
- Ensure competent and practical adherence to the Black and Veatch standards and lessons learned.
- Communicate issues and new project lessons learned so that these issues are captured for possible future implementation.
- Conduct foreman/subcontractor meetings to review/assist in daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
- Develop and monitor a 3‑Week Look Ahead Schedule for assigned work scope.
- Develop a corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
- Verify that all material, manpower, and other resources needed to support the 3‑Week Look Ahead Schedule are available and on site.
- Develop, monitor, and report on completion of craft/subcontractor punch list activities.
- Maintain a daily log for site records.
- Review all craft/subcontractor timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
- Monitor supplier Technical Service Representative daily log and review or approve their timesheets.
- Communicate and coordinate assigned craft/subcontractor(s) daily and weekly work plans with other discipline superintendents and Construction Manager.
- Monitor assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with subcontract scope and schedule requirements.
- Develop a stable working relationship with assigned subcontractor(s).
- Assist Field Subcontract Administrator in preparing all extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs).
- Assist the Construction Engineer in compiling or answering Contractor Information Requests.
- Responsible for compiling and answering CIRs if required.
- Administer the execution of work packages and equipment installation.
- Develop and distribute a Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages within scope.
- Identify potential back charges and out‑of‑scope issues and report to Construction Manager.
- Support commercial recovery process.
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management to direct reports.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and change management associated with the implementation of improvements.
- Act in the capacity of a supervisor; does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.
- Supervise direct hire projects general foreman and foreman and CM projects subcontractors, superintendents and field engineers.
Construction Management or Engineering degree.
