Position: Youth Program Coordinator - J.A. Henry Y
Location: Cedar Hill

If you have a passion to help Middle and High School students develop their leadership skills, join the J.A. Henry YMCA as our new Youth Program Coordinator
! In this part-time, up to 15 hour per week role, you will coordinate our Youth Leadership Chattanooga and Youth Trust programs, working with community partners and schools to provide quality programming throughout the school year for local youth.

This role requires someone who is available to work biweekly evening meetings and two weekend retreats per year, for Youth Trust;
Youth Leadership Chattanooga requires one full Wednesday (school hours) each month. The occasional weekend may be needed. Other programmatic hours can be flexible and based around the coordinator's availability. The primary focus will be during the school year, with August - October being the busiest months, and including the two weekend retreats. We are hopeful our new Youth Program Coordinator can start mid-May to train and see the programs running through the remainder of the current school semester.

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Using program guidelines, develop and implement program plans/curriculum
  • Organize and manage program registration and nominations
  • Recruit, support and help to retain program volunteers
  • Manage program evaluation and data collection to improve and maintain program efficacy, and for program grant support
  • Responsibly manage program budget and resources, including overseeing program purchases
  • Understand and educate others on the site emergency plan and communicate potential risk or exposures to supervisor
  • Attend all staff meetings and training as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Evening/after school hours and occasional weekends required. Once per month, program days are during the school day.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Some college preferred
  • Must be 25 years of age or older
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office & Outlook and ability to learn other YMCA systems required
  • Current driver's license and ability/comfort driving small 15 passenger van required
