Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Pleasant View, TN
Location: Pleasant View

Take on a meaningful full-time contract position supporting students in a vibrant suburban setting near Pleasant View, TN. As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you'll make a direct impact on K-12 students across multiple schools within a district recognized for its dedicated DHH hubs spanning Pre-K through Middle School.

This role offers the opportunity to provide primarily consultative services, collaborating with fellow professionals and families to create accessible, supportive learning environments.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience or coursework related to DHH education, preferably in a school setting
  • Willingness to complete Tennessee fingerprinting and district credentialing requirements before your start date
  • Strong communication and consultative skills for working as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and school assignments throughout the academic year
  • Commitment to empowering students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
What you'll do:
  • Serve K-12 students across DHH program hubs, with caseload numbers and locations varying based on assignment
  • Deliver consultative and direct instructional services as identified by student needs and IEPs
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure inclusive educational programming
  • Support the expansion of middle school DHH services in a growing district
  • Maintain diligent, timely records and communications regarding student progress
This contract is slated to run from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a full-time Monday-Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week), following the school calendar.
