Position: School Counselor for Campbell County Comprehensive High School
Location: Jacksboro

Campbell County Board of Education is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students' academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social-emotional well-being while fostering a positive school culture.

Position Summary

The High School Counselor provides a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development needs of students. The counselor collaborates with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners to help students achieve success and prepare for postsecondary opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Valid Tennessee School Counselor License or eligibility for Tennessee licensure.
  • Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
  • Knowledge of academic planning, college and career readiness, student support services, and state graduation requirements.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and career development.
  • Assist students with academic planning, course selection, and graduation requirements.
  • Support college and career readiness initiatives, including postsecondary planning, financial aid awareness, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to identify and support students who may be at risk academically or behaviorally.
  • Coordinate and interpret student assessment data as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, families, and outside agencies to address student needs.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and response efforts when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in school improvement efforts and support a positive learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or Director of Schools.
