Location: Cedar Hill

Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in the vibrant Nashville area. This is a full-time, onsite role where your expertise will have a meaningful impact across DHH hubs serving Pre-K through Elementary, as well as a new Middle School hub. Starting in early August and following the school calendar through late May, you'll collaborate with a dedicated network of educators to help students reach their fullest potential.

Your primary focus will be providing consultative support and instruction throughout a variable K-12 caseload. Assignments may shift based on evolving student needs, allowing you to apply your skills flexibly and creatively within a supportive district. You'll become part of a team that honors innovation and professional growth, ensuring that every student receives the individualized attention they deserve.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Current Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification (Required)
  • Expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education with K-12 experience
  • Proficiency in adapting and differentiating instruction for diverse learners
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to travel between schools as needed (assignments may include more than one location)
  • Willingness to complete Tennessee fingerprinting and district credentialing requirements prior to start
Responsibilities:
  • Support DHH students through consultative and direct instruction based on evolving caseloads
  • Implement IEP goals and ensure compliance with state and local guidelines
  • Collaborate with general education and special education staff to create inclusive learning environments
  • Engage families and provide resources to support student learning
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in regular progress meetings
