Requirements: Meets qualifications for a teaching license to teach Special Education Resource (Interventionist) for grades 6-12 AND meets the employment standards to teach Algebra I in public schools in Tennessee.

Salary and contract: The salary is based on a 200-day contract for a full school year. If days < 200, daily rate = annual salary / 200.

Qualifications- Valid teacher’s license with appropriate endorsements
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of and skill with computer technology for personal and presentation applications
- Meets health and physical requirements
- Prepares lesson plans for course(s) of study taught
- Aligns course(s) curriculum with state standards
- Uses a variety of teaching strategies to differentiate for student learning
- Prepares, administers, and records student assessments
- Assigns lessons routinely and corrects student work in a timely fashion
- Maintains order in classroom and school areas
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Counsels students as needed for academic or social needs
- Consults with other professionals to address learning or behavioral problems with specific students
- Communicates with parents regularly
- Schedules parent conferences as directed
- Keeps attendance and academic performance records
- Reports concerns regarding a child’s health or welfare as needed
- Represents the school system positively in the community
- Participates in faculty meetings, professional development, and training
- Upholds board policies and school rules
- Supervises activities that foster student understanding of their social environment
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
