Special Education Teacher
Lake City Middle School is looking for a certified Special Education Teacher for the school year.
This position is to provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of elementary students with disabilities. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the classroom.
- Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and other materials, considering factors such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, learning styles and physical limitations of students.
- Collaborates with regular education teachers in providing an appropriate curriculum for students with disabilities based on the Tennessee general curriculum.
- Evaluates student progress and establishes student behavior.
- Attends and conducts IEP meetings.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid teacher's license with appropriate Special Education endorsement; strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
