About This Role
Early Learning Tree is looking for a PreK teacher. We are looking for a teacher that can make a classroom come alive. We strive to hire the best qualified staff who love teaching and inspiring children.
Candidates must have experience in teaching and managing an early childhood classroom. Our teachers must also have the ability to communicate well with parents and function as a team member with our staff. This position requires a highly mobile person with lots of energy who is detail oriented and an efficient multi-tasker. We are looking for someone that will enjoy coming to work to play with children, develop lesson plans that inspire, be a good role model to our children and work well with staff.
WhatYou'll Do
A teacher is responsible for caring for children, educating and developing young minds, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. The duties include:
- Enjoy playing with and teaching children.
- Manage needs of children in the classroom.
- Develop inspirational lesson plans that follow our center’s curriculum and TN-ELDs guidelines.
- Create an environment that invites children to learn every day.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are followed and in compliance.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents, staff, and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom.
- Maintain current required training.
- Other duties as needed - cleaning, maintenance, etc.
- Hold a minimum of a CDA or Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum of 3 years of professional early childhood teaching experience.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of TN DHS child care licensing rules and regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer/technical product (tablets) skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education
