Job Description
Work cooperatively with the STEM Director and all Lone Oaks Farm staff in implementing the program. This includes teaching of math, science, technology, and engineering. The curriculum will be created by the STEM Director. Assist the STEM Director in adapting activities and materials for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing the use of the environment and the outdoors as an integrating context in STEM education, as well as providing an opportunity for all students to participate in activities.
Setting up the equipment and preparing materials prior to arrival of students, as well as picking up and packing materials and/or equipment at the end of the day. Assisting with the supervision and instruction of students.
The Extension Program Assistant II position is housed at Lone Oaks Farm, a facility operated by UT Extension. The position is responsible to the 4-H Youth & Development Director. This is a full-time position.
Duties include:
Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status. Required Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED, knowledge and experience with technology, including computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel. Etc.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of related experience required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be enthusiastic and creative minded. Clear background check will be required. Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Vocational or technical training. Associates Degree preferred.
Experience:
Teaching experience in the sciences. One or more years of experience with teaching youth in a class setting. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
