Fayette County Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated elementary teacher for PK‑5. The teacher will be responsible for preparing lessons that align with state standards, delivering differentiated instruction, providing interventions, collaborating with faculty and administration, overseeing student progress, and communicating with parents and stakeholders. Assessment development and administration are required.
Qualifications- Active Tennessee PK‑5 teaching license or the ability to obtain one
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective decision‑making and verbal & written communication skills
- Highly qualified in the relevant area
- Demonstrate and differentiate instructional methods to meet individual student needs
- Commit to high student achievement and support all students
- Apply subject matter knowledge effectively
- Use teaching strategies to enhance critical thinking skills
- Create a secure classroom climate and respond to inquiries
- Instruct students to improve academic success
- Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers
- Administer and develop assessments, develop individual learning plans
- Participate in meetings and professional development activities
- Monitor students, ensuring a safe learning environment
- Prepare written materials documenting progress and meeting mandates
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and community resources to improve outcomes
- Plan, develop, implement, and monitor student success strategies
- Integrate available technology into lessons
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
- Maintain punctual attendance and adherence to schedules
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; requires fine finger dexterity
- Approximately 40% sitting, 20% walking, 40% standing
- Ability to attend work regularly and on time
