We are need of substitute teachers who are available to substitute teachwhen needed and are available on short notice (the night before an absence or the morning of an absence).

Required to substitute teach a minimum of five days per month (if jobs are available) in order to remain an active substitute teacher.

All applicants for substitute teacher positions willbe contacted by email to schedule a screening interview.

Current substitute teachers in Jefferson County Schools DO NOT need to apply again.

For the
2026-27 school year, substitute teachers in Jefferson County who hold an active

Tennessee Teaching License will be paid $150 for a full day or $75 for a half day. All other substitute teachers are paid $105 for a full day or $52.50 for a half day with the following exceptions:

• Non-licensed substitute for full-time prek assistant full day (6.5 hours) - $91.00
• Licensed substitute for full-time prek assistant full day (6.5 hours) - $130.00
• Non-licensed substitute for special education assistant (7 hours) - $98.00
• Licensed substitute for special education assistant (7 hours) - $140.00
• Non-licensed substitute for part-time prek assistant (4.5 hours) - $63.00
• Licensed substitute for part-time prek assistant (4.5 hours) = $90.00

Salary: $105 to $150 for full day (7.5 hours)

Active Tennessee Teaching License is required.
