Special Education Assistant Lifeskills
Location: Cannon County Middle School, Woodbury, Tennessee
Job SummaryPerform necessary activities under the direct guidance of the teacher and assist in supporting students with disabilities.
Responsibilities- Assist students with toileting, catheterization, feeding, and other self‑help activities as required.
- Assist individual pupils and small groups in developing academic skills.
- Perform clerical duties such as preparing instructional materials, making reports, checking papers, and recording grades.
- Maintain student records as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Administer all diagnostic tools as directed by the teacher.
- Assist in preparing the classroom and organizing all instructional materials and equipment.
- Monitor the classroom when the teacher must attend required meetings, provide consultation, etc.
- Attend all in‑service and faculty meetings when directed by immediate supervisors or the Director of Schools.
- Assist in the supervision of students on bus trips as directed by the building‑level administrator.
- Perform lunchroom, recess/playground, before or after‑school duties.
- Project a positive image of the Cannon County School District at all times.
- Keep confidential information regarding school business.
- Act in a professional manner at all times.
- May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
- Successfully complete Criminal Justice fingerprint/background process and drug screen.
- Maintain an appropriate attendance record.
- Dress neatly and appropriately, according to system dress code.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher, Principal, Supervisor of Exceptional Learning, and/or Director of Schools.
- High school diploma.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Full‑time.
