Fayette County Public Schools seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our school system. The successful candidate will join a professional organization dedicated to student success.

The candidate will perform duties customary to a high school teacher in grades 9–12, including preparing lessons toward mastery of state standards, collaborating with other faculty, small group instruction, differentiating instruction and providing interventions, working with administrators and coaches to improve performance, monitoring students, and collaborating and communicating with parents and other stakeholders. Developing and administering assessments is also required.

Qualifications
  • Active Tennessee teaching license for the applicable grade and subject or the ability to obtain one.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • Hold appropriate Tennessee certification license.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Effective decision‑making and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly qualified in this area.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide an instructional program that is differentiated.
  • Commitment to high student achievement & support for all students.
  • Knowledge of the subject matter being taught.
  • Ability to exercise various teaching strategies to increase students’ critical thinking skills.
  • Create a secure classroom climate and respond to inquiries from a variety of sources.
  • Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study.
  • Administer and develop subject‑specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
  • Participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Monitor students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Prepare a variety of written materials to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.
  • Support other classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and monitor with student success as your goal.
  • Use available technology in your lessons.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
