Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, passionate, and ethical SPED Early Education Teacher (619 Classroom) to join our team. The SPED Early Education Teacher will work closely with the SPED Supervisor, Preschool Coordinator, classroom teachers to evaluate children age 3 to 5 suspected of having a learning disability, collecting data, writing IEPs, and providing services.
Key Responsibilities- IEP Management: Write, manage, and facilitate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring all legal, state‑mandated due process timelines are met.
- Individualized Instruction: Adapt and deliver specialized, developmentally appropriate lessons in play, early literacy, math, and social‑emotional skills following state‑approved curriculum.
- Multidisciplinary
Collaboration:
Partner with Speech‑Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physical Therapists (PTs), and general education preschool teachers to deliver integrated services. - Data Tracking: Collect ongoing data to measure progress against specific IEP goals, adjusting teaching methodologies based on analytics.
- Behavior Management: Create structured environments, implement positive behavior support plans, and teach essential self‑regulation and social skills.
- Family Engagement: Maintain regular, clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, evaluations, and strategies for at‑home support.
- Supervision: Direct, mentor, and evaluate paraprofessionals/educational assistants assigned to the classroom.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) or Integrated Early Childhood Education Prek‑3.
- Licensure: State‑issued teaching certificate in Special Education or Early Childhood Special Education.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of early childhood development, due process regulations, and adaptive communication/assistive technologies.
- Approved applications must hold proper credentials.
