OverviewHidden Valley Middle School in Jordan School District seeks a dedicated 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to join our collaborative educational team. This position requires designing and implementing rigorous instruction aligned with state standards in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The ideal candidate will analyze complex texts with students, develop critical thinking and analytical skills, and prepare learners for the transition to high school.
Responsibilities- Creating engaging lesson plans.
- Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assessing student progress.
- Actively participating in Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes.
- Maintaining strong classroom management and communicating effectively with students and families.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Professional Educator License awarded by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or an Associate Educator License (AEL). Proof of an AEL required before being added to the candidate pool.
- Acceptance of proof of enrollment in a teacher certification program at a local university as alternative to AEL.
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
- Commitment to equitable instruction and student success.
- Participation in the Alternate Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) Program when hired.
- Medical (3 plans, 2 networks) with Employee Assistance Program.
