About the Role Ampersand Therapy is hiring an Exceptional Education Teacher to support students in White Bluff, TN. In this role, you ll provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and create inclusive learning environments that help students succeed. You ll work with a collaborative district and a supportive, therapist-run team.

What You ll Do

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects
• Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs

What We re Looking For

• TN certification for Special Education Teaching with Interventionist or Comprehensive Endorsement
• Bachelor s degree (or higher) in Special Education
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure:
Bachelor s degree, Valid Tennessee teaching license, Applicable Special Education endorsement;
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: knowledge of the special needs of students in the assigned area;
Knowledge of IEP goal-setting process and implementation;
Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs;
Effective communication skills;

Experience:

Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience;

Instructional Strategies:
Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP for each student assigned;

Present subject matter effectively and according to guidelines established by IEP;
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, including technology, to meet student needs;
Work with classroom teachers to modify curricula;
Participate in IEP meetings;
Participate in the selection of books and media;
Student Growth and Development:
Conduct ongoing assessments, provide or supervise personal care and related activities;
Classroom Management and Organization:
Create a conducive learning environment;
Manage student behavior per IEP;
Other:
Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers;
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
