Special Education Teacher - Somerville, Tennessee

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with students at the elementary, PreK, and high school levels during the 26/27 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dedicated, supportive environment, helping students achieve their fullest potential in self-contained classroom settings. Youll collaborate with colleagues, families, and service providers to create a positive learning experience for diverse learners.

Openings are available for two elementary teachers, as well as one role each at the PreK and high school levels. Typical hours are onsite from 8:00 am3:00 pm.

• Valid Tennessee teaching license required
• Must hold a 459, 461, or 105 endorsement
• CDC certification is a must
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiation strategies
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other special education staff, general education teachers, and families

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each students unique needs
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom that encourages growth and independence
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies and adaptive technologies to maximize student engagement
• Track progress, maintain records, and provide regular updates to parents and staff
• Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., speech, OT, PT)
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and student support teams as necessary
