Norris Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Middle School Agriculture Teacher to develop and lead an engaging agriculture program for our students.

A primary goal of this position is to create a strong middle school agriculture experience that is intentionally aligned with the Agriculture program at the Anderson County Career and Technical Center (ACCTC). The program should introduce students to the skills, experiences, and career pathways they can continue to pursue at ACCTC and beyond.

• Provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in agriculture and agriscience.
• Develop hands-on agricultural projects, labs, and real-world learning experiences.
• Incorporate STEM, problem-solving, technology, and career readiness throughout the agriculture curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with the ACCTC Agriculture program to create a clear and meaningful pathway from middle school into high school agricultural education.
• Introduce students to agricultural career pathways and opportunities available through ACCTC.
• Develop and support FFA participation, leadership development, and career-development opportunities for middle school students.
• Provide experiences in areas such as plant science, animal science, natural resources, agricultural mechanics, and agricultural technology as appropriate.
• Build partnerships with local farmers, agricultural businesses, industry professionals, and community organizations.
• Promote student responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and hands-on problem-solving.
• Serve as an active and collaborative member of the Norris Middle School faculty.

• Appropriate Tennessee teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
• Background in agriculture, agriscience, agricultural education, or a related field preferred.
• Ability and desire to provide engaging, hands-on instruction to middle school students.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
• Interest in developing FFA, student leadership, and agricultural career opportunities.
• Willingness to collaborate closely with ACCTC instructors to strengthen the middle school-to-high school agriculture pathway.
