TEACHER

This position is a full time interim teaching position for the period of 8/31-10/9/2026. Qualifications include a Tennessee teaching license endorsement for the area of primary teaching assignment, meeting requirements of state instructional standards. No prior experience required, but teachers without experience will be assigned a veteran mentor.

Universal expectations include working with the building principal to perform responsibilities such as determining the level of prior knowledge through student data, providing a plan of instruction that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students, following accommodations and modifications deemed appropriate by an IEP, 504, or administrative agreement, arriving punctually and remaining present and engaged for all work hours, working with colleagues to establish and maintain a collaborative environment, attending all building-level and district PLC's, maintaining a classroom culture conducive to learning, setting standards for appropriate behavior, communication, and mutual respect, developing appropriate lesson plans, facilitating learning for students using Tennessee Curriculum Standards, employing a variety of instructional techniques and technology, monitoring students' progress toward mastery of standards, protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities, maintaining and communicating accurate, complete, and correct records, enforcing and reinforcing school policies and procedures, making provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, striving to maintain and improve professional competence, attending staff meetings, performing extra duties, and serving on committees as required.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with evaluation procedures, policy, and regulations of the Tennessee Department of Education. Essential function attendance is required, with regular, predictable, and punctual attendance being an essential function of this position. The employee must be able to report to work as scheduled, maintain consistent attendance, and perform all assigned duties during established work hours. The nature of this position requires the employee's physical presence to provide direct instruction, supervision, support, collaboration, and services to students and staff.

Reliable attendance is critical to ensuring continuity of educational services, student safety, and the efficient operation of the school district. Failure to maintain regular attendance may adversely affect job performance and the district's ability to fulfill its educational mission.

Mental demands include maintaining emotional control under stress and working prolonged or irregular hours. Physical demands include prolonged standing, frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting, frequent walking, regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds), and regular exposure to noise.
