Minimum requirement: valid Tennessee Teaching License OR 20 years Teaching Experience with Inactive Tennessee Teaching License required.

• Tutors will be part-time and work either 2 or 4 days per week.
• Tutors will work up to 7 hours per day.
• Tutors will work 13 weeks each semester as outlined below.

$25.50 per hour.

Position Title: Part-Time Tutor

Reports To: School Administrator

Location: K–5 school placement TBD

Responsibilities: (Include, but are not limited to)

• Work in tutoring sessions with small groups of 3 to 5 children in grades 1-5.
• Assist with homework assignments, skill reinforcements, test preparation and other instructional tasks.
• Motivate and encourage students to achieve their instructional goals.
• Plan and work cooperatively with classroom teachers.
• Maintain records of student progress.
• Successfully complete required training sessions.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid Tennessee Teaching License OR 20 years Teaching Experience with inactive Tennessee Teaching License required.
• Literacy and/or mathematics emphasis preferred, but not required.
• Successfully complete required training sessions.
• Ability to interpret and follow school board policies as related to job functions.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of time, etc.).

1st Semester = 28 Work Days (13 weeks x 2 days per week + 2 prep days)

2nd Semester = 27 Work Days (13 weeks x 2 days per week + 1 prep day)

PD for Tutors = August 27

Tutors can work 1 day before August 31 to prepare for students.

Tutors can work one day the week of January 11 to prepare for students.
