Summary:
Provide school based education group and individual sessions with students in grades K – 3 at schools participating in the Project BASIC program.
- Assist in organizing, planning, and implementing the Project BASIC program.
- Locate, select, and develop resources needed for the Project BASIC program.
- Coordinate the Project BASIC program with school principals.
- Schedule and conduct classroom instruction with grades K – 3.
- As appropriate, provide individual and/or group counseling for students, teachers, and parent support counseling.
- In coordination with school administration, develop a system for referring students to appropriate community agencies.
- Collect and maintain data and information that can be used in reports and program evaluations.
- Attend conferences, seminars, and other training sessions deemed appropriate by the Project BASIC Coordinator and/or the Executive Director.
- Other duties may be assigned.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related area. A Master’s degree and some experience in public schools and/or counseling are preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
