Job DescriptionClaxton Elementary School is accepting applications for a Special Education Assistant in CDC. This position is categorized as an Educational Assistant (EA) who works with Special Education students under the direction of a licensed teacher. The EA is engaged in all learning activities as directed by the teacher. All Educational Assistants employed by Anderson County Schools are required to be Highly Qualified (HQ).
QualificationsA high school diploma is a minimum requirement. Some college is desired. The successful candidate must be Highly Qualified (HQ), as defined by federal law. The HQ status is achieved by either passing the Praxis Parapro Test, which assesses general knowledge; by having a minimum of an A.S. degree; or having successfully completed 48 semester hours of college work. Experience working with students is a plus.
