A TN Tutoring Grant Paraprofessional (frequently designated as a TN ALL Corps Tutoror Academic Interventionist) works within Tennessee's state-funded high-dosage tutoring initiative.

Unlike a regular classroom aide or a LEAPS after school specialist, this role is explicitly data-driven and strictly focused on narrowing learning gaps in core subjects (primarily Math and English Language Arts) during the standard school day.

Under the direct supervision of the school administration and the district's Tutoring Coordinator, the TN Tutoring Grant Paraprofessional delivers high-dosage, low-ration academic tutoring to small cohorts of students. The primary goal is to accelerate grade-level learning using Tennessee's state-approved supplemental curriculums.

  • Curriculum Implementation:
Deliver high-quality, pre-planned lessons aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards using state-adopted acceleration platforms (e.g., Zearn for Mathematics or Reading Plus for ELA).
  • Targeted Scheduling:
Facilitate consistent tutoring blocks lasting exactly 30 to 45 minutes, 2 to 3 times per week per student group over a designated semester timeline.
Data Tracking & Progress Monitoring
  • Growth Tracking:
Document regular student growth metrics and formative assessments to ensure students are responding to intervention strategies.
  • Compliance Logs:
Maintain accurate time, attendance, and instructional records for every student group to satisfy state grant audit requirements.
  • Teacher

Manage student behavior effectively within the micro-learning group to maximize active instructional time and ensure safety.
  • Positive Learning Culture:
Build deep, encouraging mentorship relationships with students to foster academic confidence and a growth mindset.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move dynamically for extended periods.
  • Willingness to supervise outdoor physical and wellness activities.
  • High levels of patience, empathy, and strong communication skills necessary for engaging with children and families.
