Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Perform operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established preventive and corrective maintenance standards while maintaining safety and professionalism. Duties are performed on local sites; candidates should reside within 50 miles of Ridgely, Tennessee.
Core Responsibilities- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub‑station equipment.
- Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Implement Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) safety procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally.
- Minimum 2+ years of commercial/industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants.
- Experience with preventive maintenance on solar utility equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
- Knowledge of inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI).
- Initiative to escalated issues and ability to train and mentor apprentices.
- High work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
- Must live within approximately 50 miles of Ridgely, Tennessee.
- Will be exposed to outdoor ambient temperatures.
- Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and on‑call service via phone/text.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
Hourly rate $30.00–$42.00, DOE. Additional performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation may be included.
