This organization is an advanced energy technology company developing next-generation power solutions for high-reliability applications. The team operates a specialized laboratory in Tennessee, focused on creating compact, efficient systems that enable long-duration power for devices across a range of industries.

The Power Electronics Engineer will play a key role in designing and optimizing power conversion and power management systems. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and enjoys transforming complex engineering requirements into manufacturable, high-performance electronic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power conversion systems (DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC) for high-reliability and compact applications.
  • Optimize power management architectures for efficiency, thermal performance, and system reliability.
  • Perform PCB design, layout, and integration for high-density electronic systems.
  • Conduct circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis to validate performance.
  • Execute system testing, troubleshooting, and verification under demanding operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration into final products.
  • Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews and compliance processes.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in power electronics development.
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, or equivalent).
  • Strong background in DC-DC converters, voltage regulation, and power conditioning.
  • Familiarity with low-power, high-efficiency electronic design techniques.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations and thermal management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in an R&D or product-development environment.
  • Experience with harsh-environment, high-voltage, high-frequency, or radiation-tolerant electronics (preferred).
  • Experience with embedded control for power systems (preferred).
  • Reliability testing or qualification experience for aerospace, defense, or energy applications (preferred).
