Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Loudon

Summary Malibu is the world's leading towboat manufacturer and now looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join their Product Development Engineering team. This position will perform electrical engineering duties to support both New Product Engineering and Product Development in the continuous improvement of the Malibu product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Manage new product design and continuous improvement of in-boat electrical systems and operating systems.

* Develop software requirements for boat operating systems and HMI

* Confer with management, production, sales, and purchasing to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.

* Develop and maintain technical drawings and specifications.

* Assume the lead engineering role on multiple assigned projects including operating systems, switches, sensors, CAN enabled devices and other powered systems.

* Responsible for the preparation and daily management of estimates, cost reports, and project schedules for multiple projects and suppliers

* Regularly identify opportunities for product and designs improvements to enhance the form, fit, and function of current and new designs.

* Establish validation standards, develop testing protocols, and document test results for electrical and supporting mechanical systems. Direct and coordinate supplier compliance with specifications.

* Use engineering and computer design software, specifically AutoCAD, NX, and Solid Works.

* Ensure proper cross-departmental coordination and effective communication of all assigned projects.

* Develop and direct test scopes involving multiple supplier interactions and facilitate integrated test plans for in-boat field testing.

* Support Production and Customer Service teams with electrical troubleshooting.

* Other duties may be assigned.
