Metrology Supervisor

We’re growing—and we’re looking for a technically skilled and highly organized Metrology Supervisor to lead calibration and equipment logistics operations supporting our Performance Group.

Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, this hands‑on role oversees calibration activities, laboratory and warehouse workflows, instrumentation troubleshooting, and project equipment coordination, supporting field testing in multiple projects across the U.S. and around the world.

Your Role
  • Oversee and maintain the calibration process for test equipment supporting field projects
  • Ensure calibration records, certificates, and equipment status documentation are accurate and readily available
  • Supervise calibration lab and warehouse activities to maintain efficient workflows and equipment readiness
  • Review calibration certificates and ensure the independent technical reviews of completed calibrations
  • Train and support personnel performing calibration activities and equipment handling
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and coordinate repair or disposition of field‑reported equipment issues
  • Maintain equipment tracking and calibration recall systems within Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal
  • Develop and improve calibration procedures and standard operating procedures for specialized instrumentation
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, packing lists, and project equipment logistics
  • Maintain equipment inventory, status tracking, and documentation within SharePoint and related systems
  • Support procurement activities and vendor coordination associated with test equipment and maintenance
  • Ensure calibration lab standards and procedures meet required uncertainty and field performance requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field; OR an associate’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a metrology or calibration laboratory environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal software suites
  • Experience in calculating measurement uncertainty and developing custom calibration procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for instrumentation, sensors, and electronic equipment
  • Experience supporting shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment logistics workflows
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move equipment or project crates up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting field testing or industrial performance testing environments
  • Familiarity with precision instrumentation used in thermal, hydraulic, or emissions testing applications
  • Experience maintaining digital equipment records within SharePoint, ERP, or database environments
  • Process improvement or workflow optimization experience within a laboratory or technical operations setting
