Position Overview
As part of the talented Sea Ray Tellico team, the Product Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting integration of new product and sustaining engineering changes. Responsibilities include supporting operations on product related concerns with root cause analysis, issue resolution, training and documentation of correction.
Essential Functions- Lead & support root cause analysis of product build concerns
- Drive problem solving and corrective action of production challenges related to product
- Drive problem solving and corrective action to improve internal quality defects, as well as warranty failures
- Identify critical to quality operations & checks required
- Revise engineering prints, as necessary, through the Engineering Change Process
- Create & implement engineering changes, as necessary
- Support/ Build offline Design Validation and Production Validation boats
- Primary focus in all aspects of lamination process from mold preparation to PI
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
- Prefer lamination knowledge and/or experience
- Able to read and understand engineering prints
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
- Must possess strong analytical skills
- Must be customer focused
- Able to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility, supply chain, product development, and vendors
- Self‑starter and detail oriented
- High school diploma or GED required
- Lift up to 30 lbs. up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs up to 30% of shift; push/pull up to 30 lbs
- Shop floor working environment; non‑climate controlled; temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions
- Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months
- Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
- Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment and personal protective equipment while present on the production/shop floor
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Pay range: $23.07–$30.01 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
