Sr. Process Control Engineer - Counce Mill
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for providing process optimization and engineering support for the mill, which will include, but not limited to, compliance, process coordination, lean projects, quality and product safety, and analytical and systems support. Develops and maintains methods for tracking and reducing operational costs. Coordinates the efforts of our outside resources to improve our operation by filtering and utilizing appropriate information. Conducts data analysis projects and uses data to make business decisions.
Assignments may include some work at higher levels for training and development purposes. Successful candidate should have knowledge of pulp & paper making, wastewater treatment, and recovery boiler operations. Interest/aptitude in controls.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or relevant experience required
- Applicants must have 5 years' experience in process engineering or production in the paper industry
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD, and Project
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems would be preferred.
- Process Control minor or Certificate.
- Experience working with DCS/QCS Control Systems and PI/Data Parc historian.
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:
- Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multitask, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers
- Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
- Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving
- Must be capable of working with ambiguity and change
Competitive pay and benefit package.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting salary range for position: $110,000 - $125,000
- Paid Vacation:
Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. - Paid Holidays.
- Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
- Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
