Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of complex capital projects within a large hydroelectric generation system. This role is responsible for both the business and technical management of projects, ensuring objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals.
The successful candidate will oversee all phases of project development, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors and stakeholders, and provide leadership in project controls, cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement project management frameworks for large-scale and complex capital projects.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and performance objectives are achieved.
- Develop and maintain project work breakdown structures (WBS), execution plans, schedules, and resource plans.
- Support project approval processes and ensure project requirements are clearly identified and met.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience managing large capital, infrastructure, utility, energy, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and change management.
- Proficiency with advanced spreadsheet applications and project estimating software.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or other AACE International certification.
- Experience supporting hydroelectric, power generation, utility, or industrial capital projects.
