Location: Pigeon Forge
The Comedy Barn Theater, one of the most beloved and entertaining family theaters in the Smoky Mountains, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lighting & Audio Technician to join our production team. The role is essential in helping us deliver the high-quality, professional performances our guests have come to expect.
We are looking for someone with proven, hands‑on experience in live theater or similar environments. This position involves operating and maintaining lighting and audio systems for our high‑energy, fast‑paced shows.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and manage lighting consoles, dimming systems, and intelligent fixtures during live performances.
- Mix live audio
, including multiple vocalists, instruments, and playback tracks, ensuring a clean, balanced sound. - Program and maintain lighting cues to match the creative vision of the show.
- Perform regular equipment checks, troubleshoot issues quickly, and coordinate with the production team to keep shows running smoothly.
- Assist with setup, strike, and routine maintenance of lighting and sound systems.
- Maintain a safe and organized booth, stage, and backstage environment.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience running live sound AND lighting in a theater, concert, or similar live event setting.
- Strong working knowledge of digital sound consoles
, wireless microphones, and effects processing. - Experience with DMX lighting systems
, cue programming, and troubleshooting lighting rigs. - Ability to work calmly under pressure in a live, fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team‑player attitude
. - Strong problem‑solving skills and technical know‑how for quick on‑the‑fly fixes.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a show schedule.
Please Note: This position requires prior technical experience. It is not an entry‑level role

- Experience with QLab or similar show control software
. - Basic electrical and rigging knowledge.
- Familiarity with theatrical snow machines, haze, or other special effects.
