The Guest Service Representative (GSR) is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests before arrival and throughout their stay. The GSR registers guests, issues keys, maintains accurate records of occupied sites, handles reservations, collects payments, and keeps the store clean, well‑stocked, and organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Greet guests at the front desk in accordance with KOA standards.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints thoughtfully while maintaining campground standards.
- Prepare required reports, including shift checklists and downtime reports.
- Answer inquiries about campground amenities and local attractions.
- Log and deliver all messages, packages, and mail in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with fellow associates and other departments; use proper radio etiquette.
- Handle cash drawer in accordance with KOA cash and credit card handling procedures.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality, and cleanliness.
- Maintain store displays and inventory control, communicating ideas and guest feedback.
- Increase revenues through upselling strategies and ancillary income opportunities.
Education and Experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong communication skills and conflict management ability.
- Working knowledge of operational procedures.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Office tasks requiring use of standard office equipment such as computers and copiers.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds regularly; lift or carry up to 25 pounds or more occasionally with assistance.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, reach overhead, and move safely over uneven terrain.
- Repetitive motion, standing, bending, sitting, lifting, and walking are common.
- Noise levels may be moderate to loud.
- Exposure to dust, pollen, grasses, landscaping materials, chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment.
- Use of personal protective equipment required where necessary.
- Experience with occasional interruptions and shifting priorities.
- Valid driver’s license required; may be expected to drive a motorized vehicle, requiring close and distant vision, reading signs, and operating traffic signals.
