Join our Finance team in Rockford, TN! This is an on-site position at the North American Manufacturing HQ. You'll work in an open-office environment and collaborate with colleagues across North America.
The company accountant is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the nominal ledger and related balance sheet reconciliations. The person is responsible for producing month-end management accounts for review by the assistant controller. Heavily involved with the year-end close, annual financial audits, tax calculations, and statutory submissions required.
RequiredSkills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- CPA or CMA (or international equivalent) is preferred.
- 2 – 4 years of relevant accounting experience required, with a shared services background preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and hands-on experience with SAP, Quick Books, or similar ERP systems.
- Comprehensive understanding and application of accounting principles and financial reporting standards to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial documents. Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in creating the company’s financial plans and budgets to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including day-to-day upkeep of the nominal ledger and related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies.
- Analyze historical and current financial data to provide insights into the company’s financial status.
- Prepare and assist with regular and ad hoc financial reports, including calculating sales commissions and related accruals.
- Provide financial information to internal stakeholders and support decision-making processes with comprehensive analyses.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Self-review work to develop and suggest more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain and monitor internal control systems across all business locations to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets.
- Assist with external financial audits and internal control audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
- File appropriate state registrations and ensure the timely submission of non-income and sales / use tax obligations.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses as required by business needs.
- Adapt to changes in responsibilities and duties as needed to support the organization’s evolving requirements.
