Relationship Manager

Responsibilities

• Upholding Smart Bank Core Values and Core Purpose.
• Developing new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
• Completing each loan application and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner.
• Gathering related financial and general business information, performing financial analyses needed to make credit decisions.
• Participating in team credit decisions and communicating with prospects and customers to close sales.
• Screening loan requests based on financial institution policies and types of loans offered by the institution.
• Ordering appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information as needed on loan applicants.
• Monitoring overall profitability of relationships and negotiating terms, fees, and structures to the mutual benefit of the client and Smart Bank.
• Evaluating potential customer loan requests and making loan recommendations to management.
• Reviewing new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution and making recommendations to management when necessary.
• Communicating complex approvals or denials to the borrower.
• Promoting and participating in the financial institution’s special credit programs and other CRA programs.

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or management preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in banking or sales lending field.
• RMA – Credit Risk Certification preferred.
• Graduate School of Banking preferred.
• TBA Lending Schools – Commercial Lending preferred.
