Diet Clerk

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Diet Clerk is responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions as needed.

• Distribute and collect menus.
• Assist patients in completing menu selections in compliance with prescribed diet, as assigned by the dietitian.
• Offer alternatives to menus as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences when patients inquire or need additional selections.
• Plan regular and modified menus based on the current diet manual.
• Prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula accurately and timely.
• May be responsible for the preparation, distribution, inventory and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations and patients’ rights policies.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and TJC.
• Complete all required documentation, reports and logs.
• Follow facility and department infection‑control policies and procedures.
• Participate in facility‑wide and department Performance Improvement Programs and teams to improve processes and patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Prior diet clerk experience preferred.

Full time schedule; days and hours may vary. Rotating weekends. Full‑time/part‑time options available.

$15.00 per hour to $16.00 per hour.

Required:

Prior diet clerk experience preferred.
